Ladles & Soup Ladles Australia

A ladle is one of those kitchen tools that gets used almost every time you cook something liquid. Soup, curry, stew, congee, hot pot broth. The right one makes serving cleaner and more controlled, and the wrong one either drips everywhere or scratches your pot.

Hello Kitchen stocks a range of ladles in stainless steel, silicone, wood, and iron to suit different pots, cooking styles, and personal preference.

Stainless Steel Ladles

Stainless steel ladles are durable, hygienic, and easy to clean. A good everyday choice for soup pots, stock pots, and woks where you need something that holds up to regular daily use without warping or absorbing flavours over time.

Silicone Ladles

A silicone ladle with a wooden handle is the right choice for non-stick pots and pans. Heat-resistant and gentle on coated surfaces, it won't scratch ceramic, marble, or titanium non-stick finishes the way metal can. Easy to wipe clean and comfortable to hold.

Wooden Ladles

Wooden ladles are a traditional choice that works particularly well with iron pots and woks. Wood doesn't conduct heat, so the handle stays cool, and it won't scratch seasoned iron surfaces. The WoodLand golden sandalwood ladle is a more premium option with a vintage finish that looks as good hanging on the wall as it does in use.

Chinese Wok Ladles

A Chinese wok ladle has a deeper, rounder bowl and a longer handle than a standard soup ladle, designed for scooping and tossing ingredients in a wok at high heat. The Kanda iron and stainless steel Chinese ladles are traditional professional-style options used in Chinese cooking for everything from stir frying to serving.

Strainer Ladles

A mesh strainer ladle lets you scoop ingredients out of broth or hot oil while leaving the liquid behind. Useful for hot pot cooking, blanching vegetables, and skimming stock. The Cooker King 304 stainless steel mesh strainer ladle is a practical everyday addition to any kitchen that does a lot of soup or broth-based cooking.

Ladles FAQ

For everyday soup and stew serving, a standard ladle with a 60ml to 80ml capacity covers most household needs. For larger pots or cooking in bulk, a bigger ladle saves time. Chinese wok ladles are generally deeper and wider than standard soup ladles and are sized for wok cooking rather than direct serving.

A soup ladle has a rounded bowl on a long handle and is designed for scooping and serving liquid-based dishes. A wok ladle has a deeper, more curved bowl and a longer handle angled for tossing and scooping ingredients in a wok at high heat. Both can serve soup but a wok ladle is specifically designed for the high-heat, high-movement style of wok cooking.

It depends on the pot. Metal ladles can scratch non-stick coatings if the edge catches the surface. For non-stick pots and pans, a silicone ladle is the safer option. For stainless steel, cast iron, or uncoated pots, a metal ladle is fine.

Hand wash with warm soapy water and dry immediately after washing. Avoid soaking in water or putting in the dishwasher as prolonged moisture causes wood to crack and split over time. Occasional treatment with food-grade mineral oil keeps the wood conditioned and extends its lifespan.
